We are pleased to showcase here how carefully curated works of art bring feelings of comfort and optimism to those coming to cancer treatment units in hospitals across Ontario. The following is an ongoing list of the settings in which we have installed artworks, with some details on the complement of types of pieces in each location. Click on the “learn more” links to see further illustrations of the before and after transformation of clinical areas into warm, hopeful and healing spaces for patients, their families and health-care providers.

To date, ArtWorks for Cancer has installed 283 pieces, including paintings, sculptures and photographic works.

Lakeridge Health Centre
We installed 85 artworks at the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre in Oshawa.

We installed 61 artworks at the Carlo Fidani Regional Cancer Centre in Mississauga.

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

We installed 23 artworks at the Patient and Family Support Centre of the Odette Cancer Centre in Toronto in November, 2017, followed by an additional 21 artworks in July, 2018.

Trillium Health Partners – Queensway Health Centre
We installed 44 paintings, 3 Inuit sculptures and 10 photographic works at the Betty and Buster Lockwood Cancer Treatment Centre in Etobicoke in April, 2017, followed by 6 paintings and 18 photographic works at the The Betty Wallace Women’s Health Centre in the same location in September, 2017.

Trillium Health Partners – Credit Valley Hospital
We installed 12 artworks at the Michele S. Darling Women’s Imaging and Assessment Centre, part of Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga.
